Why We Love It: Last year Naked & Famous set out to make the slubbiest denim ever with their King of Slub. This year, the brand attempted to one-up themselves, and it seems they've succeeded... Introducing the new slubbiest denim ever made: Emperor of Slub. Similar to last year’s title holder, this jacket is made in a heavyweight 23oz construction and woven using custom developed (over the course of 2 years), unprecedentedly slubby yarns. Unlike last year’s King, however, this year’s Emperor is woven using indigo dyed warp yarns and navy coloured weft yarns. The result is a beautiful, uneven and darkly indigo fabric colour. This jacket is made from a loomstate (alternatively, ‘unsanforized’) fabric which has been ‘tempi treated’, meaning that it has only been washed once—lightly and in cold water. The reason for doing this is to preserve the rigidity and unevenness of the denim. To top it off, this jacket is made in Japan from head to toe.
Details: This jacket also features contrast stitching, pink-line selvedge, a sheep skin leather patch (featuring custom designed artwork by Alvin Lee), and copper rivets and buttons.
Wash: "Emperor of Slub"; a 23oz fabric woven from indigo dyed warp yarns and navy coloured weft yarns.
Fit: The N&F Denim Jacket is a modified type III jacket with a comfortable silhouette.
Sizing: This jacket fits true to size. Please note: N&F's 'tempi treatment' may not have eliminated all of this jacket's potential shrinkage. As a result, we recommend you size carefully and take into consideration the jacket's potential shrinkage after the first wash.
Composition: 23oz, 100% cotton.
Origin: Made in Japan from Japanese fabrics.
