dutil. Vancouver Hosts DENIM + ART Fundraiser Show this October 24th, 2013

7pm-9pm – October 24, 2013 @ Dutil. Denim 303 West Cordova St., Vancouver, BC

10 local artists in the Vancouver community have been chosen to participate in our up-coming DENIM + ART show. dutil. Denim has supplied the denim, and the artists are given complete creative freedom – the only catch is that the finished piece must be non-wearable.’ The DENIM + ART show will be held this October 24th, 2013 at our Vancouver location. Leading up to the event, the artists will be raising funds via online donation pages (seen below). During the night of the event, donations will be made via an art raffle, in which patrons increase their odds of winning artwork by purchasing additional raffle tickets.

dutil. strongly believes that the artist should earn a living through their work. No one should work for free. We want to give the artists a head start in earning cash for their contribution to the fundraiser show held this October 24th. 75% of your donation will be divided equally among the 10 participating artists – check out their individual donation pages linked to their names (below).

dutil. also recognizes the inextricable link between art and mental illness. The Art Studios of Vancouver offers mental health and psychosocial rehabilitation/recovery to people with a diagnosed mental health illness. Their mandate is to create an art community to help people with mental health issues explore and develop individual talents and interests in a safe, respectful and accepting environment. 25% of your donation will go toward helping the Art Studios stay open to provide this incredibly important program to those suffering from mental illness.
