There is nothing quite like the sweet sensation of the cool breeze brushing against your cheeks as you glide around town peddling away your daily stresses. However, not wearing the right pants can turn even the breeziest of bike rides into an uncomfortable, sweaty and restricting ordeal. In 2011, Levi’s launched the 511 Commuter jean for men to remedy these problems and liberate the urban cyclist to ride freely and practically without scrimping on style. This year, we were very excited to see the launch of the Commuter jean for women. The Fabric
With 94% cotton, 4% polyester and 2% elastane, it is a lightweight and breathable fabric with a touch of stretch. Levi’s Sally Leon, global menswear designer for the Levi’s® capsule Commuter, describes their approach to the Commuter collection: “We work on Commuter in a different way from a fashion collection,…Instead of starting from ethereal inspiration, we begin with fabric innovation concepts.”
Advertised as “Advanced apparel to live, ride and work in” Levi’s have been successful in  creating a practical pant that is both beautiful and versatile.
