              Last weekend’s Naked and Famous party was a total success and we just wanted to take a second to thank all of our wonderful supporters! The Spearhead Hawaiian Pale Ale was a hit and so were the custom jeans. There’s nothing like friendly faces and raw & rare Japanese denim to spice up your Saturday. Selvage or selvedge, a re-appropriated version of the term ‘self-edge’, refers to the self-finished edges of a fabric. Selvage is the result of how the denim is woven; usually by hand on an old-style shuttle loom. For the denim enthusiast, raw, selvaged jeans are highly sought after for the old-style feel they represent. The selvaged edge prevents the fabric from unraveling or fraying, and eliminates the need to stitch the edge of the denim. Furthermore, it represents the revival of an old-fashioned way of doing things by hand; handcrafted denim is authentic denim. Below we have some images of the different types of selvage that we have in our store.

With fabric from one of the leading mills in the world – Cone Mills White Oak plant, cut and sewn in San Francisco, California they’re well crafted and one of our favourite new brands.
